Throughout April, LiveWell North Lincolnshire is proud to join Carers UK’s nationwide Carers Active April campaign.

Here are this week’s activities for carers to boost their wellbeing, try something new, and enjoy well-deserved time for themselves. The theme is ‘Embracing the Outdoors’.

If you are an unpaid carer, join Fun and Flex at the Dementia Café in Thurlow Pavilion, Epworth on Thursday 9 April 1pm – 3pm hosted by North Lincolnshire Community Wellbeing team and Carers Support Service. For details contact Carers Support on 01652 650585.

Unpaid carers can take a moment to support their own health and get their blood pressure checked for free on Thursday 9 April. Pop along to the Salvation Army in Ashby between 10am-12pm or join Goodwin Healthcare’s Care and Connection coffee morning at Broughton Village Hall 1pm – 3pm.

Calling all unpaid carers and friends. Join North Lincolnshire Community Wellbeing team’s Brigg Community Stroll on Friday 10 April for short walk in Brigg for some fresh air and a leg stretch whilst meeting other unpaid carers in the community. Meet in car park in The Angel, Brigg, at 10.30am (or 10.15am if new to the group).

On Monday 13 April join the Community Wellbeing team for their Community Stroll and Coffee Morning. Meet at the entrance of The Pods, Scunthorpe at 10am.

Head outside and enjoy the parks and green spaces in North Lincolnshire, for example Normanby Hall Country Park and Elsham Hall. Please check the venue before visiting as to whether concession rates apply. Or when you have time for a short stroll, visit Central Park, Baysgarth Park or your local park to enjoy some fresh air and up your daily step count!

If you look after a family member, friend or neighbour, unpaid, because they can't manage day to day without your support, you are a carer.
