The theme this Men’s Health week is – Let’s talk Prostates (and everything else Men’s health)
Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men globally and Testicular cancer is the #1 cancer experienced amongst young men.
This Men’s Health Week Public Health North Lincolnshire are working in partnership with a Prostate Cancer UK volunteer, Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance and the Ironstone Centre Community Project to provide opportunity for YOU to come along and find out more about Prostate Cancer and other cancers…

Session duration (approx. 45 minutes delivery, with follow-on Q&A opportunity)

What:
Find out more and be reminded about:
- signs and symptoms of prostate, testicular, bowel and lung cancers
- bowel cancer screening, testicular checks, and the lung health checks programme,
- how to reduce your risk of cancer.
This session is open to EVERYONE not just men or people with a prostate, as quite often those closest to us such as, our family members, friends and work colleagues can be the first to pick up on those early warning signs of cancer.
The speakers:
Wilf Baker – Volunteer with Prostate Cancer UK (PCUK) & Chairman Prostate Cancer Lincs and Humber – Wilf is a 1-to-1 volunteer with PCUK, delivering group sessions and talks locally about working with PCUK and raising awareness of Prostate Cancer, local support groups and his own personal experiences of treatment.
Elizabeth Borrill – Volunteer Coordinator of the Cancer Champions Programme at Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance – Lizzie is working to build a network of Cancer Champions across the Humber and North Yorkshire Region to help raise awareness of signs and symptoms of cancer, to encourage early detection – when treatment could be simpler and more successful. Lizzie will add further detail around Prostate Cancer Awareness and will deliver added detail on testicular, bowel and lung cancers.
