Voluntary Car Service
Delivery of a Voluntary Car Service across North Lincolnshire which helps people with genuine transport difficulties over the age of 18 get to important appointments such as doctors, hospitals, dentists, clinics, support groups, local shops etc. Our volunteer drivers are available Monday to Friday between office hours. We do not operate early mornings, evenings or weekends.
Our volunteers give their time freely but charge a mileage rate of 45p per mile to cover the cost of fuel and other vehicle costs. Drivers will wait up to an hour and half at a destination, but this can be flexible if more time is required. Our drivers are DBS checked.
Passengers are required to register with us first - we post out an information pack together with a simple registration form which we must receive back before a booking can take place.
To find out more about the service please contact the office on 01652 637700 between the hours of 9am and 12pm - there is an answer machine facility if lines are busy. You can also email voluntarycarservice@hwrcc.org.uk

Humber & Wolds Rural Action
Humber & Wolds Rural Action's vision is that rural communities will increasingly take a leading role in ensuring the social, environmental and economic well-being of all their residents. They will do this in a way that provides for the future challenges. As one of 38 Rural Community Councils across the country, we will be there to stimulate their thinking, support their work and help turn their aspirations into reality. There are around 11,000 rural communities across Britain ranging from small hamlets to bustling market towns, all with their own individual character and economy. However, rural communities now find themselves at a cross-roads and action is essential in order to generate more sustainable communities and lifestyles, offering a better quality of life for all who live in the countryside, not just the affluent who can afford to live there. With global pressures such as climate change, an ageing population and long lasting constraints on public spending, it is time to generate a new vision for our rural communities that delivers better services in different ways. Only then can we provide for the needs of both current and future generations that live, work and play in the countryside.
