Live Well visits the Ironstone Centre

Community group organisers and members of the public are invited to a series of informative Live Well drop-in sessions held in Scunthorpe town centre over the next few months.

The free sessions, held on the ground floor at The Ironstone Centre, West Street, provide an opportunity for people to find out how to use Live Well, the one stop online information hub, to search for activities or services that will support them to live their best lives.

In addition, organisers of any community group or activity not yet listed can find out about Live Well, plus receive support with registering on Placecube – the database which feeds the website – and instructions on adding their service.

Live Well is a joint initiative between North Lincolnshire Council, the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership and other partners from across the public, voluntary and community sector with an interest in improving community wellbeing in North Lincolnshire.

The sessions will be hosted by Sarah Jackson, Volunteer Hub Coordinator & Live Well Online Directory Coordinator working on behalf of North Lincolnshire Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Alliance (VCSE), and Victoria Wall, Customer Information and Engagement Officer at North Lincolnshire Council.

Victoria said: “These sessions are ideal for finding out about Live Well and how to find activities, organisations or services that interest you in the county.

“We invite along anyone who is keen to make a change to their lifestyle but are not sure where to begin. This could be someone wanting to increase physical activity in their daily routine, meet new people or take up a new hobby or skill.

“Not forgetting group organisers wanting to raise awareness of their group and increase members can also receive face to face support with the registration process. Whether you run a knit and natter group, craft group or local sports club, we welcome you along and can’t wait to get you started.”
