North Lincolnshire Alliance
Volunteer Hub

The volunteer hub is here to support and enable the people of North Lincolnshire to take an active role in volunteering within their communities.

We work in partnership with a wide range of voluntary and community groups and organisations to develop and grow diverse volunteering opportunities across North Lincolnshire. We support grass roots groups to take voluntary action in their communities and remain sustainable.

Do you want to Volunteer?

Volunteering is choosing to do something for the benefit others, or for your community or the environment without being paid to do so.

Volunteering helps to build safer and stronger communities. Volunteering has many wellbeing benefits and can help you to meet new people, learn new skills, use your valued experience and make a difference in the community where you live.

The Volunteer Hub has a new online database that volunteers can use to find volunteering opportunities within their communities by searching through the available roles in a simple way.

On this exciting new system, volunteers can register for a free account to enable them to apply for roles, be kept up to date with the application process and save their favourite searches. This account can also be used to create a CV by logging volunteer hours and roles that they have undertaken to be able to show to prospective employers.

The new online database can be accessed on computers, smart phones and other gadgets enabling you to find out how to volunteer in the most convenient way to you.

To register on our online database, or to simply browse the opportunities we have available please use the link below.

Examples of the types of opportunities we have available on the database are:

Someone's hands on a steering wheel of a car.

Volunteer drivers

Drivers are needed throughout North Lincolnshire to assist residents with their transport needs. This involves driving passengers to their health related appointments, local shops etc

A large group of men and women in a park who have been volunteering

Parkrun volunteers

There are plenty of opportunities to try new roles, apply your skills or learn new ones, be with friends and family, meet people and be a part of the parkrun community.

Far Ings volunteers

Would you love engaging with people about the wildlife of Far Ings Nature Reserve and providing them with a warm welcome to the visitor centre?

Do you need volunteers for your group or organisation?

We offer a totally free service to promote voluntary and community organisations’ volunteering opportunities to potential volunteers through this online database, our Facebook page and events we attend to promote volunteering.

To start the registration process please use the link below to set up your group or organisation on the system.

Once you have registered your organisation on the system and promoted your volunteer opportunities, potential volunteers will be able to see those online and get in touch to apply for the role.

We do not “vet” potential volunteers on your behalf, so you still need to carry out your volunteer recruitment and selection processes and this can all be recorded using the free volunteer management system that you have access to when you register.

The Volunteer Hub is a central service provided by the Voluntary Community Faith and Social Enterprise Alliance North Lincolnshire. The VCFSE Alliance is a group of voluntary and community sector organisations who came together to form the Alliance so that they could work better together and support other voluntary and community groups across North Lincolnshire.

Capacity building support can also be offered to groups and organisations in the North Lincolnshire by Community VISION. This support can help charitable organisations and VCFSE groups with organisational development including setting up and becoming embedded within local networks; establishing the right structure and setting up policies, procedures and governance processes; managing your organisation including legal, financial and reporting obligations, support to access funding, staff and volunteer management, planning and preparing for the future.

We have two offices you can visit to get any support you may need getting on to the Volunteering database:

  • Community Vision, 4-6 Robert Street, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN15 6NG, available Monday to Thursday 9am – 1pm – 01724 845155
  • Humber & Wolds Rural Action – Wilderspin National School, Queen Street, Barton upon Humber, DN18 5PQ. Monday to Thursday 9am – 1pm or 01652 638814

The Volunteer Hub can be contacted volunteering@nlalliance.org.uk

We will be holding open sessions throughout North Lincolnshire, and information on these dates will be published on this website and also on our North Lincolnshire Alliance Volunteer Hub Facebook page.

At these sessions we will have members of staff who will help you to register on the system and look through the volunteer opportunities as well as how to apply and complete the process. We will also be available to support organisations and groups who need volunteers with registering their volunteer opportunities on the database to enable them to be advertised to new volunteers.

The project is possible through UK Government funding.
